Welcome

Welcome to the dojang (training facility) of Grand Master Yi. We are a welcoming, affordable, and active facility that teaches traditional Tae Kwon Do under the leadership of Grand Master Henry Yi. We offer private lessons, a pathway of Tae Kwon Do learning from white belt to black belt, from children to adults, and a black belt Academy.

Why Tae Kwon Do?

Compared to other popular forms of martial arts, Tae Kwon Do is relatively new. Tae Kwon Do is less than 100 years old and was born in Korea after the Second World War. After regaining its independence, Korea is hungry to re-ignite its culture. In 1965, many Koreans from different regions combined their efforts into what is now a modern martial arts discipline known as Tae Kwon Do. Tae Kwon Do is focused on coordinated use of the feet and hands, with influences of Taekyon, Subak, and Shotokan Karate. Modern students discover that Tae Kwon Do lessons with Grand Master Yi are dynamic, applicable to “street scenarios”, and challenging.

Children

We teach children from four years old and older. We foster a culture of respect and discipline; we know that respect and discipline lead to a life of success. For those reasons we provide our younger students a creed.

Children shall greet their parents when they enter the house and tell them goodbye when they leave.

Children at all times will be respectful to their parents and grandparents.

Children at all times will be truthful.

Children will strive for a good relationship with their brothers and sisters.

Children will willingly help with household chores.

Children shall report to their parents when they have completed assigned tasks.

Children shall be responsible for the upkeep and neatness of their room.

Children will practice daily cleanliness in a matter of hair, teeth, and body.

Children shall abide with their parents decisions.

Children shall not interrupt adult conversation.

Children shall refrain from rowdy behavior at home.

Children shall posses an active mind, body, and spirit.

Children shall diligently study their schoolwork both at school and at home.

Children at all times show respect for their school, teachers, and their peers.

Children who do not obey their parents may be reduced in rank.

"For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment.”
